Essential Question: What are the social and economic effects of our global population explosion?

The student will demonstrate an understanding of the significant political, economic, geographic, scientific, technological, and cultural changes as well as the advancements that have taken place throughout the world from the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 to the present day.
CCR Standards: Reading Anchor Standards 1, 7 & 9, Writing Anchor Standards 1, 4, 6, & 8
Your Task: Chose one of the following topics to write a short opinion piece that you will share with your class.
1) Will we have to rethink how we use real estate to determine how and where all of theses people will live and will there be enough jobs for them?
2) What kind of energy supplies and resources will be needed in the future?
3) How might we be able to reduce pollution of the air, water?
4) What technological advances might we expect to help with producing enough food and clean water?
5) How will all these factors influence the economic, political, and social development of the world?"
